FK Rig changelog
Every version of FK Rig, the guitar and bass rig with amps calculated from their circuits: new amps, pedals, cabinets and fixes.

1.1.0 - 27 October 2026
The amps sound much closer to the real thing. We measured the high-gain amps against recordings of real amps and corrected the circuits where they were off.
- Tighter, less muddy high gain. Grid current and blocking are now calculated as a real circuit in every tube stage, also behind the tone stack - chords stay defined. Affects 16 amps.
- New Tight control (0-10) on seven high-gain amps: a high-pass in front of the distortion, matched to the measurements. 5 is the amp's tuned value.
- Power amp and speaker: the phase inverter is a real tube stage and limits on its own; the power amp's output impedance follows the negative feedback as on the real amp. Less boom between 80 and 160 Hz, more punch on low notes.
- Master on modern high-gain amps spread out: the power amp no longer saturates from 2-3, palm mutes keep their punch. Factory presets are converted and sound the same.
- Gain curves per amp: several amps now crunch in the lower part of the range instead of saturating right away. German Fire gets the channels Lead and Ultra.
- Less aliasing: pre-amps and power amp with anti-aliasing; the heaviest amps calculate at 176.4 kHz or more except in Eco.
- Presets: loading a preset or project now rebuilds the chain right away (before, the previous chain could keep playing, often with its delay).
- Labels on pedals and amps no longer overlap; switches show name and position on two lines.
- About window in the license area with version and third-party notices.
- Fixed: the standalone application no longer crashes at start under JACK/PipeWire (amp setup about five times faster). Linux: the plugin no longer crashes when loaded in FK Audio Suite.
- Windows standalone without ASIO for now (WASAPI and DirectSound); inside a DAW its driver is used.
1.0.0 - 23 October 2026
The first release version.
- 24 amps calculated from their circuits, among them seven new high-gain amps and four FK originals; every amp shows whether it follows a schematic, is inspired by one or is an FK original.
- 22 vintage pedals calculated from their schematics: overdrives, distortions, fuzzes (with the guitar's volume control in front - the fuzz cleans up when you roll back), compressors, phasers, chorus, flanger, analog delay, octave, tremolo and vibe.
- Cabinets calculated physically from enclosure, speaker, microphone, position and room: 12 cabinets, 15 speakers, 7 microphones, 4 rooms with stereo room microphones. Amp and cabinet act on each other.
- Amp Builder: build an amp from tube stages, tone stacks, phase inverter and power amp, play it and save it as
.fkamp. Every amp of the catalogue can be the starting point. - Effect Builder: design a pedal from 16 circuit blocks; controls appear on the pedal by themselves. Ten factory circuits as starting points.
- Quality Eco, Standard, High and Render (Render automatically on offline export).
- License area: several keys side by side, overview of all keys on this computer, checked offline.
- English and German user interface.
- Window fits every screen, also on laptops with 150 % scaling.
- Delivery: Linux VST3 archive with install script and standalone AppImage; Windows installer and zip; no Visual C++ runtime needed.
- Lite with Tweed 59 and British 800, three cabinets, gate, compressor and overdrive.
